At the tender age of eight Arnold Wilson won his first pruning competition. The riches of the pruning circuit beckoned. Hither and thither Arnold would travel, matching opponents cane for cane until, finally, he was crowned Champion Pruner of the Lower North. The trophy still gleams in the corner as 92 year old Arnold sets out, snips in hand, for a winter’s day amongst the vines.
This elegant wine is from our cooler Southern Barossa vineyard on the outskirts of Williamstown, where our family first planted vines in 1860. Wild ferment, bottled without fining or filtration, this single vineyard Grenache truly represents our corner of the Southern Barossa. The Wilson Family.
